FAQ
Q. Are Couture lamps UL approved for the U.S. and CUL approved for Canada?
A. Yes. Each of our lamps is individually tested to ensure strict product safety guidelines for the U.S. and Canada.
Q. What wattage bulb should I use for my lamps?
A. Wattage for each lamp can be found in the item text box in our catalog. Additionally, wattage information is printed on a label on the lamp socket, along with UL approval.
Q. What is your shipping time? What is your FOB point?
A. Couture typically ships in-stock items within 7-10 business days. All products ship from our warehouse in Jonesboro, Arkansas (about 1-1/2 hours northwest of Memphis, TN). If an item is out of stock at the time of delivery, we will place an item on backorder, unless specified by the customer at the time of order placement. All backorders will ship automatically as product becomes available. Backorders will remain open for six months after original shipment date. Any cancellation of backordered goods must be received in writing - and confirmed by Couture. Without such acknowledgement, customer assumes all responsibility. Inventory and stock status is updated weekly, and is available from the home page of our website - under a tab marked inventory. Using this when completing orders - increases the efficiency of our shipping.
Q. What are the hours for Couture’s Customer Service Department?
A. Our hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Central, Monday through Friday. There may be times when you call us - that we are unavailable to answer the phone, please leave us a detailed message - and we will return your call as soon as possible.
Q. How can I get a copy of an invoice? How do I know my order has shipped?
A. Couture automatically sends out invoices electronically to an email address we have on file for each customer. If you did not receive an invoice - this means that either the email address we have on file for your business is going to an incorrect person (for example - the email address we have may be for the owner/buyer - and not the accounts payable person) - OR - we don't have an email address at all. Please contact our customer service department, and when requesting the invoice - please provide us with the correct email address for future invoicing.
When you receive an email from Couture customer service - with an invoice attached, that means your order has shipped (this is not a pre-shipping notice, this is a post-shipping invoice - meaning, it has already left our warehouse). Your tracking number will be listed under the header: F.O.B. Most of our orders ship via Fed Ex Ground, making them easily trackable (if it says FDEG - it went via Fed Ex). View a sample INVOICE
Q. Can lamps and shades be shipped with different shades and/or finishes then what is shown?
A. Couture stocks all lamps and accessories as shown in our catalog. Lamps and shades are packed together in one box, unless found in our "Lamps sold separately" portion of our website and catalog.
Q. How does Couture ship, and what will freight cost?
A majority of our products are in UPS reshipper packaging, making most items cost effective for small package shipping (our preferred shipper is FedEx). FedEx Ground shipping from the Memphis area typically means a 2-4 day shipping window. If it is more cost effective - we will ship larger orders via palletized common carrier shipping. Any order that contains an item with our truck symbol on it will automatically have to ship by common carrier. Please notify us of any special requirements for common carrier shipping, including liftgate and/or inside delivery, residential delivery, or advance notification. These services will incur additional chargers - which will have to be added to your invoice as actual cost, outside of our normal shipping rate parameters. Click here for: Shipping rates by region
Q. What are Couture products made of?
Most of our products are made of a mix of materials, including: hand-cast resin, cast metal, K9 or optic crystal, acacia wood, rubberwood, mother of pearl, capiz shell, coconut bark, eggshell, leather, etc. Quite a few of our pieces are made of a combination of materials, not just one material. Please note, with our extensive use of natural materials, variances of size, color, texture, or pattern - may occur. This reflects the use of natural components and should bring added value as an individual artisan-crafted product.
Q. Does Couture accept product returns?
A. Couture is a wholesale company. Meaning, all returns for reasons other than damage or defect are subject to a 25% restocking fee, plus all applicable shipping charges (you will be responsible for shipping costs BOTH ways). Regrettably, we will not accept any return for any item that is not in its original packaging. If return guidelines are not followed, credit will not be issued.
